Type -Virus

It was founded in 1986.this Virus infects floppy disks used in personal computers at that time. It consumes empty space on the disks, preventing them from being used to store data or programs.

Internet Worm

Type -Virus Worm

It was founded in 1988. Robert Morris, Jr. a graduate student at Cornell University, wrote this experimental, self replicating, self propogating program and released it on to the internet.

 It replicated faster than he had anticipated, crashing computers at universities, military sites,and medical research facilities throughout the world.

Tequilla

Type - Virus

It was founded in 1991. Tequilla writes itself to a computers harddisk and run any time the computer is started. It also infects programs when they are executed. Tequilla originated in Switzerland and was mostly transmitted through internet downloads.

Michelangelo

Type -Trojan Horse

It was founded in 1992. Set to active on March6(Michelangelo birthday), this Trojan Horse overwrite large portions of the infected computer’s Hard Disk.

Satanbug

Type -Virus

It was developed in 1993. It infects program when they run , causing them to fail or perform incorrectly. Satanbug was desgined t interfere with antivirus program so they can not detect it.

Concept

Type -Virus Worm

It was developed in 1996. It was the first Virus to be written in Microsoft’s word’s macro language, concept travels with infected word document files. 

When an infected document in opened,Concept places macros in Word’s default document templates, which infects any new word document created on that computer.

 Melissa

Type-Virus Worm

It  is developed in 1999. It is Microsoft word macro virus that spreads by a mailing itself automatically from one user to another. It inserts comments from “The Simpsons” television show and confidential information from the infected computer.

 Melissa spread throughout the world in few hours. Microsoft closed down the it’s e-mail servers to prevent the spread of this Virus within the company.

ILOVEYOU

Type-Virus Worm

It was developed in 2000. It arrives attached to an E-mail message with subject line “ILOVEYOU” and infects any computer on which the attachment is opened. 

It send itself to addresses in any Microsoft Outlook address book it finds on the infected computer. The Virus destroys Music and photo files stored on the infected computers. When it was launched, it clogged E-mail servers in many large organizations and slow down the operation of the entire internet.

Code Red

It was developed in 2001 . it can infect webservers and personal computers. It defaces web pages and can be transmitted from Web servers to personal computers.

Nimda

Type-Virus Worm

It was also developed in 2001. It modifies web documents and certain programs on the infected computer. It also creates multiple copies of itself using various file names.

BugBear

Type-Virus Worm(Trojan Horse)

It was developed in 2002.It is spread through E-mail and through local area Networks. It identifies Antivirus Software’s and attempts to disable it.

Klez

Type-Virus Worm

It was developed in in 2002. It is transmitted as an E-mail attachment and overwrites files, creates hidden copies of the original files, and attempts to disable antivirus software.

It was developed in 2003. Slammers primary purpose was to demonstrate how rapidly a worm could be transmitted on the internet.

Sobig

Type-Trojan Horse

It was developed in 2003.Sobig turns infected computers into  spam relay points. Sobig  transmits mass E-mails with copies of itself to potential Victims.

MyDoom

Type-Worm(Trojan Horse)

It was developed in 2004.MyDoom turns the infected computer into a Zoombie that will participate in a denial of service attack on a specific company’s website.

Sasser

Type-Virus Worm

It was developed in 2004. Sasser was Written by a German high School Student, Sasser finds computers with a Specific security flaw and then infects them. The infected computer’s are slowed by the Virus, often to the point that they must be rebooted.

Zotob

Type-Worm(Trojan Horse)

It was developed in 2005. Zotob performs port scans and infects computers that appear to have a specific security flaw . Once installed on a target computer, Zotob can log keystrokes, capture screens, and steal authentication credentials and CD Software Keys.

AIDS

Type -Virus

AIDS is a Computer Virus Written in Turbo Pascal, Which overwrites COM files. It is the first Virus Known as to Exploit the MS-DOS corresponding files.
