Future Skills
In computer technology provide an industry driven system to get India accelerated on the Computer skills an becoming the global hub for emerging information technologies.
This advancement in information technology has power to enable thousands of IT professionals to be future-ready by creating a culture of continuous learning, collaboration and co-creation. These newly emerging technologies are following
- Internet of Things(IoT)
- Big Data Analytics
- Robotics process Automation
- Block chain Technology
- Social & Mobile
- Virtual Reality
- Cloud Computing
- Artificial Intelligence
- 3D Printing/ Additive Manufacturing
It is commonly known as IoT, is a way of connecting all around us into a common network. It is invented by Kevin Ashton in 1999 during his project Proctor and Gamble.Through this technology, we will able to communicate as well as transmit data across this network without the need or any human involvement.
It is junction of multiple technologies , real time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems. It evolves machine to machine communications connecting to each other via a network without a human interface.
IoT system is made up of four different components that work together to deliver the desire outcome.
Sensors/Devices
First of all, sensors collect every small data from the surrounding environment . the collected data can be a geographic location or health essentials of a patient etc. ex- our cellphone is a device having several inbuilt sensors such as camera, GPS etc.
In this, when the data is collected , it is sent to the a server with the help of several wireless and wired technologies, such as Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Cellular Network, LAN etc. Whereas each connectivity option can be the one that can be choosen best for transmitting data to the clouds depend on the specific requirements of an IoT application.
Now , as the data transmits to a cloud , it is stored , analyzed, and processed securely for better decision making. This decision can be as simple as checking weather .
Example
The temperature reading on an AC is within an acceptable range or not , or as complex as identifying intruders in your house with the help of surveillance cameras. The processed data is then used to perform quick , intelligent actions that turn our ordinary devices into smart devices.
User Interface
It is the last part is to intimate the end user about the action through various means i.e. an e-mail, notifications, or alert on an IoT application, Depending on the need , the user can then either leave the system to perform an action automatically,or manually perform an action to affect the system.
For instance , if they want to change the temperature of particular room, then they can remotely adjust that room temperature via an IoT app installed on his phone. Ant it can be connected to internet also.
Application of IoT
Health Care
with the help of real-time monitoring of the patient , condition in any place , smart medical devices are connected to a Smartphone app, the connected devices can collect required health data and use that data as a vital resource in order to treat patient.
Education
This provide an opportunity to the students in gaining knowledge on new things in a better and interactive way along with their friends and teachers.
Now a days, learning process is not show only the combination of images and texts but much more than that. Many textbooks are transforming into web-based sites that incorporate additional videos, animation interactive assessments, and other education material to aid the learning process.
Smart Wearable
it is one of the latest technology to have deployed the IoT. We often see Amazefit, smart watches everywhere these days. it detects step count, heart rate, sleep monitor using a tiny sensor placed on the arm band and relays the information via wireless connectivity to the mobile device.
Smart Home Applications
Smart home technology is also know home automation . A smart home is residence that uses various devices connected with the internet enable the monitoring and management of various appliances, such as lights, fans, security systems .
other examples
- Smart cities
- Connected Cars
- Industrial Internet
- Smart Grids
- Smart Farming
- Smart Retails
- Smart Supply chain etc.
